More About Me
I am sharing some background information on my professional experience in the Bay Area housing and real estate market, spanning 3 decades.
My career began in 1986 with the City of Berkeley Housing and Community Development Department, where I was involved in several major projects:
- The William Byron Rumford Plaza Development: The construction of affordable housing from the ground up (A bronze sculpture of the late William Byron Rumford is located in South Berkeley at the intersection of Sacramento St. and Julia St. For more information, please see: https://www.blackpast.org/african-american-history/california-fair-housing-act-rumford-act-1963-1968/ (https://www.blackpast.org/african-american-history/california-fair-housing-act-rumford-act-1963-1968/)).
- The Fourth Street Redevelopment Project: This initiative transformed a formerly industrial section of West Berkeley into the thriving shopping mecca that generates substantial revenue for the City today (https://fourthstreetshop.com/ (https://fourthstreetshop.com/)).
- Public Housing Development: The creation of 61 units of Public Housing (3-4 bedrooms) across 13 scattered sites throughout Berkeley, including the development of Sojourner Truth Court, all with disabled access (https://www.womenshistory.org/education-resources/biographies/sojourner-truth (https://www.womenshistory.org/education-resources/biographies/sojourner-truth)).
- The D&E Houses: The rehabilitation of nine vacant, dilapidated homes in West Berkeley (between Cedar and Virginia) using Federal Funds and Tax Credits, which were then sold to First Time Home Buyers.
- Senior/Disabled Loan Program: Offering essential home repairs to qualified homeowners.
- Rental Rehabilitation Program: Working with owners, contractors, and vendors to rehabilitate housing/apartment units for rental through the Section 8 Program.
My experience with the City of Berkeley cemented my passion for helping people achieve homeownership. This led me to obtain my Real Estate license so I could more effectively assist clients in buying and selling residential, commercial, and residential income properties.
I have been a Top Producer for many years, helping clients successfully navigate complex real estate transactions. I specialize in challenging situations, including trustee sales, conservatorships, probates, short sales, protected tenant-occupied properties, and 1031 exchanges. I find great satisfaction in bringing resolution to difficult real estate matters and witnessing the genuine relief and joy of my clients. My commitment to my clients is evident in the high volume of repeat and referral business I receive.
I obtained my Real Estate Broker's License in 2018 and hold the following professional designations:
- Member of the National Association of Realtors
- Member of the California Association of Realtors
